HAMSP has a nationally recognized collection of artifacts

Located in Wilson, the museum’s new building will house a collection of American Indian artifacts that were unearthed in the region. The collection includes pottery, tools and religious artifacts that were discovered by James K. Hampson in the 1920s.
According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the new building will be located on the town square in Wilson. The museum has been closed since November 2017 in order to move facilities and exhibits.
The new museum is projected to open after an inspection scheduled for Sept. 15, according to Randy Roberson of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.
