The best kind of indecision inevitably involves food. Little Rockians are lucky enough to have this welcomed problem when looking to eat out for lunch, dinner and even breakfast — but what about those Saturday and Sunday mornings that may require a little hair of the dog? Luckily, brunch options in the capital city have been growing, and this upcoming “Brunching in the Rock” series will highlight a few gems. Today we start with West Little Rock’s B-side.

Dim sum may not sound like the best candidate for brunch but much like the other side of a hit record, B-side shares space with Lilly’s DimSum ThenSome on the weekends, offering a brunch haven to hungry Little Rockians, complete with a full bar. Transplant Nancy Tesmer originally opened B-side a few years back, but now the secret is out.

The mixed aroma of coffee, sausage, and a hint of seasoning spices meets you when you step into the restaurant. Tesmer says she works hard to ensure the ingredients are fresh — much like the orange juice when it arrives at your table freshly squeezed.

The menu is full of twists on brunch favorites including powdered beignets, a Biscuit Mountain and a take on Chicken and Waffles. The eggs benedict is classically prepared, although there is a crab cake option for the more adventurous brunch-seekers.

For a bonus, ask for the delicious breakfast burrito, a permanent special not listed on the menu. The dish offers a blend of cheese, egg and sausage wrapped together in a tortilla, which, once dipped in the accompanying sauce, becomes addicting. The mimosas are sure to please, as the bubbly is highlighted by the aforementioned freshly made orange juice. The Bloody Marys, like everything else, have a special touch. The homemade mix offers a spicy, yet perfect, answer for any rough morning.

Located on 11121 Rodney Parham in the Market St. Shopping Center, B-side is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you have a large party, try to get there early — tables fill up fast.
