When is the last time you took your tongue out on a date? Mark your calendars and prepare your palate for the 24th Annual Celebration of Tastes January 26 and 27 at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Missouri.
The Ozark Mountain resort will host three separate tasting events featuring a fine dining experience courtesy of Executive Chef Mike Halbert and 14 premium wines from Silverado Vineyards of Napa Valley.
The Welcome Reception begins 7 p.m. Friday night. Wear your fanciest stretchy pants to get the most out of Chef Halbert’s four course dinner featuring pork belly and seared scallops. Each course, you’ll get a fresh glass of Napa’s finest, including a 2016 Sauvignon Blanc, 2016 Chardonnay Vineburg, 2013 Sangiovese and 2013 GEO Cabernet Sauvignon. Tickets are $125 per person.
Saturday afternoon, the flavor starts flowing with a Silverado Vineyards guided wine tasting. The tasting costs $45 per person.
Saturday night, Chef Halbert will be back at it to serve a six course meal at the Wine Lovers Reception. Seared duck, mussels, oysters and slow-cooked pork are on the menu. Expect to taste Silverado Vineyard’s best Chardonnay, Cabernet, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Risotto and a late harvest Sauvignon Blanc. Tickets are $165 per person.
If you want to relive the experience, wines from each event will be available for purchase.
Big Cedar Lodge also offers child care for children ages 4-12. While you party with your palate, kids will be entertained at Fun Mountain with various crafts and activities. Reservations are required, so be sure to call ahead.
