Arkansas Repertory Theatre Announces 2018-19 Season

The Arkansas Repertory Theatre – better known to locals as The Rep  – announced that its 2018-19 season would include plays by Tennessee Williams, William Shakespeare and more.

The new season will start Sept. 5 with Williams’ The Glass Menagerie, which will play until Sept. 23. The Rep will change pace with Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner from Oct. 24 – Nov. 11. During the holiday season, theatergoers can attend the musical Little Women, based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott. That show will run from Dec. 5 – 30. The Rep will start off 2019 with Shakespeare’s As You Like It from Feb. 6 – 24. In March of 2019, the repertory theater will perform Million Dollar Quartet from March 27 – April 21. Finally, the season will end with Women in Jeopardy! from June 5 – 23.

The theater said on Facebook that the upcoming season “exemplifies The Rep’s mission of producing diverse work of the highest artistic standards for its Arkansas audience.”

“Variety is, once again, the watchword at The Rep,” Producing Artistic Director John Miller-Stephany said. “Our 2018-19 Season will see the production of two very different musicals, a Shakespearean comedy, a classic American drama, the stage adaptation of a popular award-winning film, and a hilarious contemporary play. I feel passionate about each and every one of these stories, and I am truly excited about the combination.”

The Rep is located in the heart of downtown Little Rock at 601 Main Street. To buy 2018-19 season subscriptions, visit therep.org or call the box office at 501-378-0405. Tickets for individual shows will go on sale in August 2018.
