The Arkansas Literary Festival has announced its list of presenters for 2018. Award-winning authors, filmmakers, singers and artists are included in the 15th annual festival, which will include events at CALS Main Library and around Little Rock from April 26 – 29. Many of the festival’s events are free and the public is welcome to attend.
Over 70 authors, essayists and illustrators will lead discussions in genres ranging from science fiction, fantasy, crime, Southern life, social commentary, science, women’s history and young adult and children’s literature.
The Arkansas Literary Festival’s presenters come from various backgrounds; the list includes NYU and Yale University professors, as well as an NBA All Star.

An Evening with Sebastian Junger

Saturday, April 28 • 7 p.m.

Sebastian Junger, author of The Perfect Storm: A True Story of Men Against the Sea, War and Tribe: On Homecoming and Belonging, will present the CALS J. N. Heiskell Distinguished Lecture for journalism. Junger is also the filmmaker behind Restrepo, which was nominated for the 2011 Academy Award for Best Documentary. The Queen of Rockabilly

Thursday, April 26 • 7 p.m.

Join musician Wanda Jackson at CALS Ron Robinson Theater for an Arkansas Sounds concert Thursday night. Tickets are available at ArkansasSounds.org. On Friday, Jackson will discuss her autobiography, Every Night Is Saturday Night: A Country Girl’s Journey to The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Friday, April 27 • 7 p.m.

Celebrate this year’s authors with hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Tickets go on sale March 15 at arlitfest-author-author-2018.eventbrite.com. They will cost $25 in advance and $40 at the door.
